On April 20th, ten members of the Spartan Wushu Club attended the 17th Annual Collegiate Wushu Tournament hosted by UCSD’s wushu club. The event brought many university wushu clubs together to compete. It was a great experience for our first time competitors and we would like to thank the UCSD Wushu Club for organizing such and awesome competition. It was truly a memorable experience for our group

This last Saturday, a couple members of the Spartan Wushu Club traveled to Charlottesville Virginia to participate in the 16th Annual Collegiate Wushu Tournament. UVA ran one of the most organized tournaments that we have ever attended and we greatly appreciate their time and effort into making the competition possible for all competitors and spectators. It was truly an event that not only showcased a lot of great talent, but it also brought wushu clubs together to help strengthen the small Wushu community in the U.S.
Be sure to check out all the great photos documenting our trip in our Pictures section as well as videos of our competitors in the competition video section as well!!!

This past Saturday (March 24th, 2012) was UC Berkeley’s 20th Chinese Martial Arts Tournament. One of the largest running competitions on the west coast. Traditional and Modern Wushu practitioners/enthusiasts flock to this tournament so see all kinds styles of wushu and to see where they rank in the nation. It was a long day…..but a great experience as always!

This past Friday, the Spartan Wushu Club had the greatest opportunity to organize a figure drawing session with SJSU’s Shrunkenheadman Club (animation/illustration club). Over 50 animation/illustration students showed up to draw our wushu poses. We were thrilled with the turnout that day!
We would like to thank the Shrunkenheadman Club for their enthusiasm and support and we hope to organize another one in the future. And lastly we would also like to send out a special thanks to our friends Cao Yue and Yang Yang for helping us out with the posing. We would not have made the event successful without their help!
